A fabulous narrow piece of 1880, antique French Grotesque fabric! Grotesques were popular in the late 1800's and are knowns for being highly decorative with an air of slightly wicked in the design, VERY rare to find on printed cloth, most of the grotesque fabrics were woven silks ~*~ A rare treat! Aged off-white ground with khaki brown printing ~roller printed design. medium weight cotton ~ ideal for many creative projects ( I have other pieces of this pattern in my shop! Please search my store for the word " grotesque" 2024 and they will appear ~ )
MEASUREMENTS : This lovely textile measures very approximately 64 inches by 90 inches
CONDITION: This fabric is in as found, not freshly laundered condition ~ This piece isn't in good condition ~ When held to the light one can see many small holes, the middle has a patch of larger holes. This panel was once quilted, so you can see the tiny quilting lines. There are some marks that I"m certain won't wash. There is the patch up near the top! . This fabric has signs of time and use, often inherent in these wonderful antique fabrics~ all condition reflected in the price
